I shoot a lot of advertising, more still than video. I much prefer having a removeable eye piece (like the Zacuto that snaps on), but everyone seems to sell the one that mounts on the base .... and all my cameras 5D's and 7D's I have changed to Arca swiss mounts. I purchased this as it was inexpensive enough for me to give it a shot. It is light, I really like the way it snaps on and off! I can focus. It is WAY better than the Hoodman and the crappy elastic bands and the price point is awesome!I would give this 5 stars if the build quality holds up over time. But for now - excellent value![...]

Expected to be more compatible with Canon T2i (3:2) LCD

I bought this because I liked the diopter adjust and flip up viewfinder cover. It does this, however, since I have the Canon T2i with the 3:2 screen, it does not fit correctly as it is shaped to fit the 4:3 screen. I assumed that it may come with a 3:2 frame (or at least be large enough to fit), but did not. So it partly covers the screen edges a bit on the sides. In addition, the Canon auto proximity sensor to turn off the screen is covered by the attached screen cover. Unless you modify the part to open the mounting frame of the screen cover, it will keep the screen off unless in Live View mode. I did not want to try to alter the screen cover since it may destroy the part. The other problem is that there is a slight warping of the viewfinder plastic so it does not latch easily with the screen cover. So I am returning the product.

Awesome product for the money

Fit my 7D Camera perfectly and is a great tool to use in conjunction with the Glidecam. You just flip up the eyepiece and glide away. The base comes with a piece of glass that I removed since it was acting like a mirror, but it easily came off and was no big deal. With the eyepiece it does limit you seeing the screen when the camera is up high or down low but I usually don't glide up high or down low. The image looks great and I'm happy to get rid of my hood man crane which was my only other option to have an eyepiece and still use my camera with a glidecam. The price is ridiculously low so jump on this one!
