For those who don't like closing their LCD screen....

I read the 2 prior reviews, and I went ahead and bought it. I'll tell you why. I came from a T2i, and like most slrs, there was no option to close the lcd screen face down. I'm used to that and that's how I prefer to shoot. Being able to close your lcd face down is a new phenomenon on SLRs with articulating screens, it is simply a luxury, nothing more. A previous review said if you leave it face-up, you'll have to constantly wipe it. Isn't this the whole point? We never wipe our LCDs enough for fear of leaving scratches. With this optical glass, you can wipe away all you want, that's the point! To me, being used to the T2i, I rather leave it face up all the time because every time you flip it open, you are working the articulating arm. You keep flipping it back and forth, overtime, don't you think it can become loose? Plus, with this optical glass on top, what are you worried about? I had a optical glass for my T2i, and now I have one too for my 60D. I leave my 60d face up, just like my former T2i. No more need to flip lcd open when you fire up your camera. If you find logic in my review, I highly recommend this product! Wipe away!

Do not buy for your Canon 60D

I was excited at first when I saw this product available for my Canon 60D. That excitement quickly turned into dissappointment when I received the product and installed it. Once installed the LCD protector prevented the variangle LCD from closing properly because of the thickness of the glass. In short, if you think this product is for your Canon 60D you will be sadly mistaken. This might be perfect for other cameras that meet the specifications but not the Canon 60D with the variangle LCD display.

The screen protector installed easily on LCD of the Canon EOS 60D for which it was intended. Unfortunately, the thickness of the protector prevents the articulated LCD from closing when the LCD is turned so that it faces the camera. That leaves the LCD in the vulnerable position of not being quite closed and susceptible to being pushed upon whenever you place your cheek against the camera to look through the viewfinder. When pushed upon it looks like that will stress the hinge of the LCD. The alternative is to leave the LCD facing outwards at all times. However, that means that the oil from your cheek appears on the screen protector which then requires constant cleaning. I've chosen to return the protector to Amazon and look for a better solution.
