Works Great

Made to NOT fall off (unlike some others) so engineered to fit tight - VERY tight.This makes it a little hard to install & remove so follow the instructions andit's not too bad.Works great, no viewfinder Vignetteing and the eyecup blocks outall side light. Best of all the eyecup rotates for left or right eyes and portrait orlandscape shots! Well made.

Bought this for a Nikon D800E. I've been using the Nikon DK-19 Rubber Eyecup with several bodies for many years. It was never quite satisfactory. The DK-19 can peal off when pulling it out of a bag or rubbing against your body. It doesn't fully cut out the light, either.The Hoodman H-EyeN22R HoodEYE does a much better job of blocking light. I wanted to use the HoodEYE with the Nikon DK-17M Magnifying eyepiece. However, the HoodEYE comes with its own glass eyepiece and the two are designed differently. I was able to remove the rubber eye cup from the glass eyepiece on the HoodEYE and tried stretching over the DK-17M. It was a tight fit, but it did work.Quality of the rubber seems good. Shape of the eyecup works well for me.

I would highly recommend this item for photographers. The one I purchased is for the Nikon D700. It allows you to focus on the viewfinder and get rid of the unwanted light around the eyepiece.The eyepiece is a litter bigger than I thought from looking at the photos online, but fits comfortably. It more of a tear drop shape than round. You can adjust the rotation if you are right or left eyed dominant. Also, it will work if you taking portrait or landscape shots.Note: One draw back is kind of cumbersome if you wear glasses. I find the eyepiece to be in the way.
